adventure

Jonathan strolling Abigail in Wickford.

Wickford Harbor.

Historic Wickford Village.

Greenvale Vineyards.

Brown Graduation.

Tiverton.

Boat House Waterfront Dining.

My little family.
What a whirlwind, we did a lot in just three days. For being such a tiny state Rhode Island has a lot to do and see. Just to name a few of my favorites: Newport, Wickford, Whalen Square, Greenvale Vineyards, Waterman Grille, Federal Hill and of course, the Black Dog.

I have to say I'm such a proud mother Abigail did not only amazing on the plane she also did so well being drug around everywhere, being up late and not having any sort of schedule. She's such a good baby.

Now, I'm looking forward to going to Rosemary Beach for our annual family trip and having my sister home for the summer.

live in the moment

My heart breaks for Oklahoma and it hurts even more for all the sweet, innocent children effected. Seems like so much tragedy has occurred in America in the last couple of months. Life really is precious and we should take the time to appreciate every moment of it.

happy weekend

What a wonderful weekend. Weekends use to be when I'd get to escape work for a short bit, but now it's the time when my little family gets to be together, uninterrupted. Being at Abigail's NICU reunion yesterday brought back so many memories. It's hard not to get emotional. I became a high risk pregnancy, Abigail went below the tenth percentile, I was induced five weeks early, separated from my newborn for a week, and then finally at home as a first time mom with a four pound baby. I wish I could hug all the moms out there going through this and tell them it's all going to be okay. You'll end up a stronger mother than you ever thought you could be, because of it. I know I certainly did.

their dreams

This time next week we will be in Rhode Island. I'm excited for our upcoming trip, but have already started having anxiety about flying with Abigail for the first time. Can't believe she turned nine months old yesterday. Nine months old! The scarier thought is she's only three months away from being one. She amazes me everyday. Watching her grow brings so much joy.

Today is Abigail's NICU reunion. Seems like it was yesterday. I'd spend all day up there, then Jonathan would meet me after work and we'd take turns holding her or staring at her in her incubator. We'd stay up there all night. Then come home sleep for a couple of hours and head back to the hospital. I'm not sure anything can prepare you for having to be separated from your first child. It's tough, but you do get through it and I think it really makes your appreciate every second that she's home, happy and healthy.

my first mother's day

The best moment in my life is when they handed me my daughter, all three pounds and seven ounces of her. She's changed my entire world. I'm a better person because of her. Being a mom is the greatest gift god could have ever blessed me with.

I had a wonderful Mother's Day surrounded by the women who have shown me what it takes to be not just a good mom, but a great one.

every great dream

I blinked and now Abigail is almost nine months old. How fast time flies when you're having fun.

the story

I just love my little family. And I absolutely love being a mom. It isn't easy. Along with the laughter and joy comes sacrifice. Its been a little tough for us. Having a baby five weeks early comes with a hefty price tag (not that I wouldn't spend the rest of my life paying every dime I made if that meant I got to be Abigail's mom). I think it's during these times though that you truly appreciate what you have. It's the little things, those moments in between that you find the most love.

always a good idea

Excited for my first mother's day and even though we can't afford to do anything too fancy, being Abigail's mother is the greatest gift of all and that alone will make for the most special day.
